Hello world. I'm Justin May, a programmer, teacher, and enjoyer of games. I've been designing and building games since before my family got our first computer in 1996. I used to upload QBaisc games to America Online and now this is a place where I can share my creations.
Currently I am working on Dulce Bellum, a tabletop rank & flank strategy miniatures wargame. This game is designed to be played in person with any miniatures you want to use. The rules are completely free as is the online list builder.
If you've enjoyed playing Warhammer Fantasy Battle or Kings of War in the past, then you will find a lot to like in Dulce Bellum. It includes all my favorite parts of those games, and removes the bits that I didn't think were necessary. It is a game about strategic movement and positioning that is won on the table, not in list building. And it is a game that is model-agnostic, so updates will never be in service of selling a new model.
I have plans for 17 factions, from the Sovereign Republic of Free Dwarfs to the Hollow Harvest Dirge to the Elfe De Bois. Each faction will have a distinct playstyle and background.
Dulce Bellum is currently in beta testing. I am tweaking the rules and adding/updating factions often.
